Author Profile: Juan Carlos Cobas

Position: Mestrelab Research President

Profile: Dr. Carlos Cobas is co-founder and President of MESTRELAB RESEARCH. He was born in Santiago de Compostela in 1971, were he started programming in the early eighties. He received his B.Sc. in Chemistry from the University of Santiago de Compostela. After spending a year at the University of Leicester (U.K.) under the supervision of Dr. Paul R. Jenkins, he returned to the University of Santiago, where he obtained an M.Sc. degree in 1995 and a Ph.D. in 2000. At the end of 2004, after 8 years working on the MestReC project, he took the decision to spin off from the Universidade de Santiago de Compostela and launch MESTRELAB RESEARCH.
